Since October 1st, Juan Pedro Díaz Martínez has been joining our chair as a new research associate. He has just completed his master's degree in Economics and Journalism at TU Dortmund. We are delighted that he is staying with us.

Juan, how did you end up here at the chair?

My path hasn't exactly been a straight line. I studied Economics in Spain and then did internships at the European Parliament and the European Central Bank (ECB). After that, I also worked in the banking sector in Germany. But I always wanted to do something with media. That's why I chose the M.A. in Economic Policy and Journalism at TU Dortmund, because it fit my background and my interests perfectly. Now I'm happy to be able to continue here.

What are you working on at the moment, and what's coming up in the next few months?

Right now I'm mainly helping with the organization of the chair. I'm also supporting the book project "Deutschland in Nahaufnahmen", which we are carrying out together with the Bertelsmann Stiftung. And I'd like to push forward the work from my master's thesis in research here at the chair.

And what else should we know about you?

I like all kinds of sports, but especially basketball. I also produce my own films, and I'm always happy to hear film recommendations.

Dear Juan, welcome to the team! We are delighted to have you with us and look forward to working on our projects together. Here's to a great collaboration!
