Research and Teaching

Juan Pedro Díaz Martínez is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Economic Policy Journalism. He has been working here since October 2026, supporting the organization of the Chair and contributing to the book project “Deutschland in Nahaufnahmen” with the Bertelsmann Stiftung.

His research interests center on the effects of uncertainty on the economy, combining empirical macroeconomics with data-driven media analysis. In his Master’s thesis, he examined how uncertainty relates to investment in Germany and Spain, using text-based uncertainty indicators built with topic modelling (rollingLDA) and vector autoregressive (VAR) models. He plans to continue this work at the Chair and to extend it across Europe.
